Not long ago, boot camp workouts were the thing. In many cities, you could sign up for a program, meet in local parks and kill yourself with workouts that resembled the physical training of soldiers. Well, you don't have to train like a soldier to lose weight and get in shape.

What is Boot Camp?

Boot camp workouts are efficient because you work your entire body heart and muscles-by going from one exercise to another with no rest. The workouts involve calisthenics like push-ups, jumping jacks, crunches and other body weight exercises...the difference lies in the intensity. In boot camp, your challenge is to take your body to its limit. You work, you sweat, and best of all, you burn calories like crazy.

Boot camp workouts are:

• A great way to burn lots of calories.
• Efficient - you work your whole body in a short period of time.
• Fun - each exercise is different so you don't get bored.
• Easy to fit in to a busy schedule - You can do it anywhere with little equipment.
• As challenging as you want them to be.
• Have fun with Rex!

Resistance/Gym training is based on underlying principles, concept, and definitions. It is necessary to understand and successfully design any resistance training program suitable for diffrent populations and for diffrent people seeking diffrent physiological adaptations.During resistance training, the following should be considered

Forces that act on the body, constant or variable force. Eg, gravity, water, tubing (elastics) and redirected gravity (pulleys and selectorized machines).

Mobility: The ability of a joint to execute full range of motion without muscle tightness or joint stiffness,

Stability: The ability of a joint to control force/ movement with strenght and coordination.

Kinetic chain: The system that links together to create human movement. The kinetic chain is composed of the nervous system, muscular system and the skeletal system.

Functional Streght: The ability of the neuromuscular system to produce dynamic eccentric and concentric contractions during all functional movement patterns of human motion.

Respecting these principles, will lead to appropriate progression for a well-designed individual training program.
